Members of the Ohio Association of Independent Schools formed the Ohio Association of Independent Schools Scholarship Granting Organization (OAIS SGO) after the creation of the scholarship granting organization tax credit in House Bill 110 (2021). OAIS SGO is approved by the Ohio Attorney General to operate as a scholarship granting organization. Scholarships from OAIS SGO go to assisting low-income families attend the independent schools of their choice.

Those who donate to OAIS SGO can receive a nonrefundable tax credit of up to $750 for single filers or $1,500 for joint filers on their Ohio income tax returns. Should a taxpayer donate more than the taxpayer’s income tax liability, the credit will reduce the taxpayer’s liability to zero. If a taxpayer files a joint return, the credit amount attributable to donations made by each spouse shall not exceed seven hundred fifty dollars.
