The Ohio Association of Independent Schools Teacher Services Committee is accepting proposals for teacher presentations until Monday, April 21, 2008 for the October 2008 OAIS Conference. In order for your proposal to be considered for this conference, you must complete all required sections of the form.
You will be asked to submit the following information:
- First and Last Name of all Presenters
- Presenter School Name and Phone
- Home or Cell Phone and Email Address where you can be contacted for clarifications and notification of acceptance
- Grade Level and Content Area of your proposal
- Presentation Title and Description as it will appear in the Conference Brochure
- Equipment and Room Setup you will need
Consider the following when composing your proposal:
Title - Accurately portray the content. Avoid catchy titles that convey little information to the reader.
Description of Presentation - Clearly state the audience for whom this presentation is most suitable. It should include the objectives for the session so that potential attendees know what they can expect to learn. Include descriptive phrases that indicate the style of session activity. A round-table discussion is different from a hands-on workshop which is different from a power-point lecture.
Conference Theme Connection - Briefly describe the connection to the conference theme. The best teacher presenters are those who can transform educational research into excellent teaching practices. Limit your description to no more than 60 words.
Equipment Requested - Please note that host schools will not be able to supply laptops and may not be able to supply all presenters with computer projectors.
Room Setup - Typical room setups include lecture, discussion circles, groups of four, music room, open space, and science lab.
Please understand that the Teacher Service Committee appreciates your proposal very much but may not be able to accept all proposals in the interest of presenting a balanced and thematic program without significant duplication of content.
Confirmation of the status of your proposal will be made no later than June 15, 2008 using the contact information you provide on this form.
Consult your school's Teacher Services Committee representative if you have additional questions.
