Welcome Pat Bassett
Patrick F. Bassett became the president of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) in August 2001. As President of NAIS, Pat Bassett is the national voice for independent education. He is well known to many in OAIS schools because of his dynamic leadership as President of the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) from 1993-2001. Patrick Bassett is a Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude graduate of Williams College and holds a masters degree from Northwestern University.
Mr. Bassett knows independent schools very well from his indefatigable travel schedule, his many speaking engagements around the U.S. and internationally but also, from experience as a teacher and Head of School at Woodberry Forrest School and at Stuart Hall.
